Harrison Ranch Park

Harrison Ranch Park Will Enable future generations to remain rooted
to the Hill Country lands and
rural ways of life.

The Project

Acquired by the City of Dripping Springs in 2008, Harrison Ranch Park spans some 64 acres on Ranch Road 12, across from Dripping Springs Elementary School. The property is heavily wooded with a rolling landscape and natural open space. A segment of Little Barton Creek runs through the property, supporting an abundance of native plants and wildlife. More than eight acres have been set-aside as a wildlife preservation and conservation area. The property currently includes a number of structures befitting a working ranch: a large farmhouse, an outdoor arena, a barn, a stable, and other outbuildings.

The new amenities will provide a premiere facility in Dripping Springs and bring new programming, tourism and added economic value to our community.   The Park is conveniently located near downtown Dripping Springs, providing easy access by users in surrounding communities.

New Amenities to be Constructed
Wildlife Viewing/Study Area; Primitive Tent Campsites; Multi-purpose trails; Picnic Areas; Horseshoes and Washers; Playground and Open Play Area; Multiuse Covered Pavilion and Arena, Stall Barn, RV sites and other amenities..

The Project provides a wide diversity of recreational facilities for all facets of our community including passive recreation and unique programming for Dripping Springs and surrounding communities. The multi-use covered pavilion will be a first-class venue for a variety of equine and agricultural events, music entertainment, trade shows, large festivals, family gatherings and corporate events.

Funding
With $1.7 million in Hays County-voter approved bond monies and a $500,000 grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife and other individual and corporate donations, the City is well on its way to achieving the needed funds to complete Phase 1 of the master plan. The City and its volunteers continue to seek the remaining funds for the completion of Harrison Ranch Park If you would like to contribute to the development of Harrison Ranch Park please call City Hall at 512-858-4725.
